How to incorporate strawberry freezer jam into a cake?
so, I am supposed to bring dessert to our family's Easter dinner, and I was thinking some sort of lemon cake with strawberry filling or topping . . . would strawberry freezer jam work? I know it's sort of a dumb question, since I know you can use regular jam, but I'm wondering if freezer jam would hold up if it's at room temperature.
also if you have any cake recipes with lemon flavor or a lemon glaze that would be awesome!
Re: How to incorporate strawberry freezer jam into a cake?
Freezer jam should work fine, as long as it won't be sitting out for more than a few hours.
I made a vanilla buttermilk cake with strawberry lemon jam in between the layers and a lemon buttercream on top. Here's the recipe:

I would say so. I used a strawberry jam on this layer cake: (Dorie's party cake)
