I am having the hardest time finishing Mockingjay
I am sure there will be spoilers if you haven't read the other HG books.
I am getting increasingly annoyed by Katniss's inner dialogue, and frankly I don't sense any kind of romantic/sexual tension between Katniss and Gale or Katniss and Peeta, so I am starting to not care who she ends up with. Plus, some of the storyline is getting ridic. The part when Gale suggested they avalanche the Nut, trapping everyone inside and Katniss and everyone else acts surprised at the gravity of that suggestion was just dumb, since I am sure some other genius would have suggested it by then. Surprise, you kill people when you are at war! I loved Hunger Games and Catching Fire, but this one is just, I don't know, contrived.

Yeah, I felt the same way. Book 1 was inspired and a fun read, book 2 less so, and book 3 seemed to me like the author was running out of steam and just wanted to finish it. I still enjoyed it, but its definitely the weakest of the three IMO.

Anything you can achieve through hard work, you could also just buy.
I liked Mockingjay for most of it just because I kept thinking "it has to get better, the end will be awesome." But it never really did get better. My friend who lent me her copy was just like "Suzanne Collins got lazy" and she really kind of did.
I think the series just blew up unexpectedly and she was rushed/pressured to finish the third book to take advantage of the craze before the cash cow disappeared.
I have to say though that I think a little bit of sex would have made the books, especially this last one, way better.

Ditto. I just wanted to find out what happened, but I didn't really enjoy reading it.
And honestly, all I really remember about it was the part with the kids, which I had a hard time stomaching.
