Can someone dig up the post of pictures of people at different weights?

I need it for a post on PC&E regarding BMI.

  • I'm not sure what post you are talking about BUT this is what I thought of when I read your post.

  • This is perfect!  Some poster over there is insisting that 5'6'' and 150 lbs is obese and I think that sounds crazy.

That IS crazy - I'm 5'7'' and 160lbs and although my BMI technically puts me in "overweight", I'm muscular and a very healthy weight.

For more photos, check out http://www.mybodygallery.com/ - you can search photos by height and weight.

I'm 5'2 and 150 and not obese.  My BMI is at the higher end of overweight even.  I've got a few lbs to lose but yea no one would say I'm obese or close to it.

This is a great link too!  Thanks.

  • Yes I was going to suggest mybodygallery.com. Very interesting to see all the different body types!

  • They are getting a new screening tool where they are using xray to determine if the person is obese. Will find the article.

I'm 5' 5", and the only time I was under 150 as an adult was due to complications from mono. On the medical charts and BMI scale, it is overweight. But my waist is under 30", I have a good amount of muscle, and I carry 34DDDs with me everywhere I go, so my dr is perfectly happy if I hang out in the 160s.

  • I'm 5'-10" and hang out around 160.  When I joined the gym they did an assessment and after the guy crosschecked about 5 different charts he looked at me and said my ideal weight is 130.  Uhhhhhhhhh, no.  I got down to 133 after having my appendix out (and getting REALLY sick) and I looked AW-FUL.  I don't think BMI numbers are a good way to assess where you're at weight wise.

  • Uh. 5'4" and 155 lbs and I am not anywhere near obese. Some people have ridiculously skewed ideas of weight!
