Hey everyone,
We are an Air Force Enlisted family and will be for the next three years. My DH is going to try to go Blue to Green into the Officer Program to fly Helicopters. Is there anything we need to know or anything we can do to make the transition easier?
Thanks!
Re: Air Force to Army
That's a great goal. Has he started the process?
I will just say that you're in for a long haul. Be prepared that it may not end up being exactly what you want. The selection process for officers right now is really tough. The selection process for flight school is even more tough. Once he gets into flight school, he'll be in a class of 30 people and only 1, maybe 2 will get to fly helicopters. DH's class tracked a couple of months ago and we had one helicopter spot and two guys who really, really wanted it. The class after theirs had no helicopter spots.
Are you guys ok with him being an AF officer even if he doesn't get into flight school or get to fly helos?
This is pretty much what my reply would have been.
Too bad it was a post and run.
Maybe she'll come back.
I'm off to make some biscuits for dinner, finish up laundry and go work it. If she does come back, you know how to get a hold of me.
