I'm looking to purchase an DSLR camera. I'll be using it for blogging (if I can get myself back INTO blogging!) and personal use. I don't plan to be a professional photographer any time soon but I do want to be able to take decent pictures.
I'm going towards a Canon Rebel but am open to other suggestions. Also..where did you purchase yours and approximately what did you spend?
I'm willing to purchase from Amazon etc vs going to a store like Best Buy or something.

Re: Camera recommendations
I have a Nikon but the canon rebel is a good starter camera. I bought mine on eBay, I've always bought camera gear there (film and digital) and I've had good luck. My best piece of advice is to bypass the crappy DSLR kit lens and by a lens and body speratley. The 50mm (1.4 or 1.8) is the most common lens used by food bloggers and its great for portraits as well.
