60 Minutes video on Sugar

Very interesting . I recommend watching it. Very consistent with what I've learned on my weight loss journey. They touch on research emerging about not all calories being equal.

  • It made me think too...Every time I eat anything sweet now I think of my brain lighting up like I'm a drug (sugar) addict.
  • I will go to my grave swearing that when I started cutting out that damn hfcs, the weight melted off of me.

Not that it's "sugar" per se, but in my mind, so connected to my status as a sugar-holic.

  • My BFF completely cut sugar out of his diet a couple of months ago. He made the change based on constantly being tired, not based on fitness. His experience is that he he is more energetic and alert, and I've noticed on my own that his BF% is down a lot (and it didn't start high).

I'm whittling down my own consumption too. I can already tell I feel better without it. I already didn't eat many sweets or drink soda, but now I'm taking a closer look at (dried) fruits, yogurt, etc.

  • Since cutting out most of my sugar, I feel awesome! Lots more energy and much better works.
