I posted on this board about 1.5 years ago and remember AChase, AK, Scooby & Hanes all being very welcoming to me; I think AK & her BF even started dating around the same time as FI & I. I remember having a lot of the same questions/"am-I-being-a-crazy-woman" moments that she would post about (thanks for sharing those, BTW, as well as all the responders because it helped! ha). I have tried to "keep up" with you all but I'm starting to fall more and more behind on keeping up with posts so I wanted to pop in and say I am so excited for the journeys you're all on and how things are going for you (from what I've read) right now. I hope things continue to go well, in whatever form that may be for you...T&P, puppies & rainbows, glitter, lots of love & laughter - all the good stuff. ;-)
As for everyone else who is S/O for whatever reason, I also wish you the best as you begin to build your "new normal". Regardless of whether you were ready and initiated the starting over or were blindsided or somewhere in between, starting over flips life as you know (knew?) it on its head (as you obviously know). It's so important to have a wonderful support system, be it friends, family or S/O on TN (or a combo of all 3). I found a quote shortly after my own S/O journey began that completely changed my thinking (I'm a little bit of a control freak and a planner) and that is, "The journey of 1,000 miles begins with 1 step". We may not know how everything from A - Z is going to work out but if we take it one step at a time, it's not as overwhelming and eventually we'll get to where we need to be. I personally started applying that mentality to all areas of my life and am in such a better place now (physically, emotionally, spiritually) than I was 2 years ago when everything first happened.
Also, I know it can be creepy for someone to feel like they "know" you/are rooting for you when you don't know much about them (since I never posted/currently post too much) so feel free to ask any questions/getting to know you if you'd like.
I end up lurking 1 -2 times a month now and I'll try to keep up & actually post when lurking but I'm really terrible at doing that consistently so I don't want to set an expectation I can't meet. ;-) Vamos a ver! (We'll see how it goes)
Have a great night!
