NDR It's been one of those weeks

But I've been taking it in stride and trying to keep positive. Where should I start? This morning my husband wakes me up (he was getting ready for work) to let me know that our sewage is backing up into our utility sink in the basement. If we use water it over flows. He has a meeting today and is super busy at work so I have to deal with it. No big deal. I HOPE it's not a big deal.

Yesterday we found out his cousin was life flighted to the trauma center. He was helping his dad cut down a tree and a big limb fell on his head. He isn't awake but is responding to the nurses. Say a prayer, please!I haven't stopped praying since I heard the news.

The day before I went to change my daughters diaper and found a huge carpet staple in her leg. I'm pretty sure my heart stopped when I saw that. We had her to the Dr. and it was quickly removed with no problem and she's all up on tetnus shots. She's fine thank god.

Over the weekend we heard that one of DH's high school friends lost their little girl. Some how she got out the back door and they found her in the pool. That one still stings...

There was some positive news about our house for sale so lets keep fingers crossed that this dude makes an offer asap!

Thanks for listening. It can only get better from here. Right?

  • I'm sorry you're having such a rough day.  I remember a while back, when our son was two, he suddenly just walked up and opened the front door.  We had no idea that he knew how to do that or was even strong enough to do so, but were SO glad we found out while we could stop him.  We used to just lock up for the night, but now we lock the top deadbolt with a key as soon as we get in the house.  I can imagine many parents have had a much worse outcome in similar situations.

So scary. My 11 month old can open doors with handles like these:

Kids amaze me with their brilliance and strength. That little girl was probably about  1 1/2 years old. So sad. I can't imagine losing a child like that. When we first heard about it all I could do was picture that happening to me and it was just killing me.
