In such a rut. Might resort to spray painting.

DD cut her nap down to 1.5 hours. It's killing me. Not only can I not get any paying work done, but I have zero time to blog or do any D&R.

Im working every night at my paying job because we have a big event/deadline next month.

I might resort to spray painting something just to get it out of my system.

Im supposed to meet up with the mom of the other girl I watch so we can figure something out. Another mom share? Part time daycare for the girls?

Until we figure it out, everything spray paintable in my house is on notice!

  • That nap dropping thing is rough. I cried when DS stopped napping at all.

  • It wasn't my plan to work this much, but I like it and the $ is great! I originally wanted to watch more kids, but 2 is soo nice because we can go places in car or dbl stroller.
  • Not sure if it will work for you but we maintain 'nap time' with alone quiet time. Ge can sing, he can read a book but he has to stay in bed until I come in. He hates time outs so a warning is all that was required and now he loves that time. We are consistent / same time every day.

  • I hear you. I pretty much have a non napper. Her best naps are in the car (so helpful..not). I don't get anything done at home as a result. I get 30 minutes in the morning and 45 in the afternoon..lol.

She does go to bed by 7 so you'd think I'd have some time. But with farm, dinner, shower and laundry...that's all there is. :)

No real point...but I feel you.

I also like the quiet time idea. My SIL does this with her 3 year old twins for her sanity. It was rough at first to get used to but now they enjoy it.

  • The quiet time is a good idea, but even if I give her an hour after she wakes up I'm still only getting 12.5 hours of work per week. I need about 20.

I guess I'm thinking I might need a more long-term solution. Maybe even just 2 half days per week dedicated only to working.

I just had it so good for so long with them napping 3-4hrs per day and only working like 15 hrs/wk. ;(

  • I know she's still only 2, but age 3 was when my SAHM friend decided 2 day a week preschool was worth it.  Her son got stimulation and social time and she had a few hours to herself to actually get some stuff done around the house, like even just being able to clean.

We did this too.  She can do anything she wants in her room until a timer goes off in 1 hour...sometimes she would actually fall asleep.
