Re: Random Poll about fears
What is your biggest irrational fear? I have a major of fear of failing (at work, sports, life, you name it).
What about rational fear? Snakes, all of them. They skeeve me out.
Do you do anything to avoid said fear(s)? Not really, I just try to deal with it and push through.
What is your biggest irrational fear? revolving doors, I know it's irrational, yet they freak me the eff out.
What about rational fear? Wasps, I am incredibly allergic to them. (And have sadly found this out by getting stung a bunch...); and the back of my neck being touched.
Do you do anything to avoid said fear(s)? I try and avoid revolving doors. I hope for the best with wasps.
What is your biggest irrational fear? Going through a car wash. Not because I'm afraid of getting stuck and dying, but because I've never done it before so I'm afraid I'll do it wrong and make a fool of myself and everyone will laugh at me. Even though you hardly have to do anything and no one would even be there most likely.
What about rational fear? A loved one dying.
Do you do anything to avoid said fear(s)? Not really. I go to a place that changes my oil and does the car wash at the same time so I don't have to.
What is your biggest irrational fear? Failing
What about rational fear? Falling from high places. I feel off of a cliff riding a 4 wheeler, about 20 feet. Now falling scares me. That and cutting off my fingers.
Do you do anything to avoid said fear(s)? I avoid high places and am extra careful when cutting food.
What is your biggest irrational fear? Pitch darkness. If I can still see a little bit, I'm fine, but if I'm ever in complete darkness or blindfolded so that I cannot see at all, I start to panic.
What about rational fear? Death (my own and loved ones)
Do you do anything to avoid said fear(s)? I avoid pitch darkness and do my best to avoid dying.

Check out What's on Liz's Head
What is your biggest irrational fear? Tight spaces? If I don't feel like I have an exit or one that is easily reached I freak out.
What about rational fear? Falling when the ground is wet or icey. I slipped on wet marble steps and sprained my hand. Then a year later I slipped on ice and landed on my hip. Now I freak out if I'm walking somewhere I don't think I have a good footing.
Do you do anything to avoid said fear(s)? Avoid small/tight spaces, and most times I have P with me I'll grab his arm tight when walking in the rain/snow/ice.

What is your biggest irrational fear? Feet. I hate feet so much.I like my feet. But not yours. I will scream bloody murder if you put your gross feet near me.
What about rational fear? Spiders? Heights. I'm not sure what makes one rational, but I hate them both.
Do you do anything to avoid said fear(s)? I don't go downtown to tall buildings if I can avoid it. And I don't touch my husband's feet. Or socks. He knew this going in though, so don't yell at me for never giving him a foot rub.

What is your biggest irrational fear? Trains and bridges- I hate being stopped infront of train tracks when a train is going by, I am terrified that will derail and kill me. I get all freaked out driving on bridges, because I am pretty sure it will fall with me on it.
What about rational fear? Loosing loved ones
Do you do anything to avoid said fear(s)? I try to avoid bridges and trains.
I tell my loved ones that I love them as often as possible, even when I am angry at them.
This is the saddest thing I've ever heard.
I HATE being in traffic and stuck under an overpass. I wanna cry and I start to panic.
Haha. I've been on a roller coaster before and I nearly had a heart attack. I've also been in the tallest building in San Antonio twice and got physically sick.
2012 Reading Challenge
What is your biggest irrational fear? I actually have a couple. Ice touching my skin, jacuzzis, and mayo. yes I am afraid of a condiment.
What about rational fear? needles
Do you do anything to avoid said fear(s)? if i hurt myself and need to ice it there has to be something in between my skin and the ice. it takes me forever to even get my toes into a jacuzzi but i usually try my best. Mayo I avoid anything made with mayo at all costs. If possible I avoid people who have just eaten mayo or made something with mayo. I have to go into another room when DH makes a sandwich.
What about rational fear? Breaking my teeth out. That's probably my only fear when rock climbing. I don't care if I fall, but if I slam my teeth into the rock and break them.... Oooh. (I realize some of you may not think this is rational. However, my climbing instructor broke FOUR front teeth out ice climbing!)
Do you do anything to avoid said fear(s)? Everything is set to, or done at an odd number... (volume, amount of things I eat, etc.) and I basically always have a plan to avoid breaking my teeth if I were to fall. Walking, climbing, leaning over the edge of something. I think about how I would avoid it. Lol.
What is your biggest irrational fear? - Spiders. I absolutely hate them.
What about rational fear? - dying a horrible death, I guess that's a rational fear
Do you do anything to avoid said fear(s)? - not really, I just try to avoid spiders and death
I totally hate other people's feet too! DH has the nastiest feet and he's always trying to touch me with them {{shudders}}
My sister is the same way about odd numbers. She counts everything.
