Recommend your favorite shampoo/conditioner

I've recently switched from drugstore to salon level shampoo and conditioner. I'm going to the salon next week and I'd like some suggestions on what brand to get. If they don't have a brand, I'll check at Ulta.

So far I've tried *Redken and I like it, but I know there are other good brands out there.  I've discovered I'm allergic to Nexxus, even though I know that's not a true salon brand.

*ETA: I initially wrote Revlon, but I meant Redken.

Re: Recommend your favorite shampoo/conditioner

  • Redken cleansing cream is such an awesome shampoo I can't live without it.
  • I'm on a shampoo/conditioner kick and lately I'm liking Fekkai voluming S & C, Pureology volume, and Sebastian Volupt. I have fine hair so I like something that doesn't weigh it down.  On my list to try are Kevin Murphy and Sojourn.

Oh these are good to know. I have fine hair too and I noticed when I switched from drugstore brands my hair almost came to life. However, that was using the Nexxus shampoo/conditioner and I quickly started having an allergic reaction to it. My hair is just dull right now because it's in serious need of coloring, so I'm hoping a good cut and color and new hair products will help.

  • I just switched from Redken all soft to the new suave keratin color care line. I LOVE it and it's like 3 bucks a bottle.

  • When I lived in the dry desert with hard water, I loved Fekkai's Technician Color Care line(andthe  All-Nutrient Hydrating line as well).  However, after relocating a couple months ago to a more humid climate with soft water, I found it to be too heavy, and my hair would get oily after just a day.  I've since "downgraded" to Pantene's new Aqua Light Shampoo/Conditioner and have really liked it(for the three weeks I've been using it).  I have straight color-treated hair, medium thickness.

  • I love Bed Head. I'm on the last of my Redken and I'm glad. I don't like it as much as Bed Head
