Where to find food prep gloves?

Does anyone know where to find plastic food prep gloves?  I would like to use some when I make meatloaf, meatballs, etc., basically anytime I have to touch raw meat.  Thanks!

Re: Where to find food prep gloves?

  • Due to having two little ones at home and changing diapers, helping potty, cleaning up, my hands get a ton of washing and are pretty chapped.  Also my skin cracks around my thumb and splits open.  The thought of raw meat touching my hands grosses me out to be quite honest.  I used to do it with my bare hands but now would prefer gloves.

  • I've been thinking of getting some, too, especially for meatballs. I feel like I wash my hands 100 times and they still have, like, a film on them. :P Do you have a restaurant supply store near you? I'd assume they have some.

  • I just buy the latex gloves at Costco for when I food prep.

My hands have thanked me b/c before they used to get so, so dry from washing  them constantly.

  • I buy them at the 99 cent store, or at the restaurant supply. I hadn't thought of Costco, but that's a good one.

I only use gloves that say food safe on them, even though I mostly use them for raw meat for my dogs.  Regular latex gloves are meant to protect your skin, but they always smell weird and sometimes have powder on them, so I don't use them anywhere near food.
