We are going to DC next week and was wondering if anyone had used the Old Town Trolley. It seems like a really good Ida especially since we will be traveling with a 3 and 6 yr old. I was wondering if there may be things that would be more accessible via the metro. We are staying in Alexandria and taking the metro into DC. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Re: Washington DC
In DC we did the Old Town Trolley Monuments by Moonlight - http://www.trolleytours.com/washington-dc/night-tours.asp it was a very cool way to see the monuments in a different way.
We did the Old Town Trolley in Key West & enjoyed it there too. I think it's a quick way to see a lot of stuff & get a few fun facts too.
And to answer your 2nd question EVERYTHING is accessable by the metro, and it's very easy to use.
Have fun! DC is a fun city.
everything is accessible by metro however, all the monuments, musuems etc are a bit of a walk from the Metro. the good thing about any of these tours in DC is you can get on and get off as needed. if you are taking two children around, they are great. i have done the dc tourist thing a ton of times with family, friends, and other visitors and they are always amazed how exhausted they are by the end of the day.
i have taken the metro nearly every day for 12 years, it is very easy to use, safe and pretty clean. if you want to cover a lot of ground though, the trolleys are good.
