I may need help. ![]()
I got this (in silver, $39.99) from ikea. It is called Helmer, and is only 11 inches wide, 16+ deep and 27+ tall, and is on casters.

It has the little card holder slot in the front, so that I can label it by color/type/whatever. For some reason, that kind of organization works better for me than see through organizers.
I used drawer dividers to make sections in one drawer for small spools. The newer shorter serger thread 'cone' and wooly nylon fit standing up, but the cones have to lie down. Even lying down I can fit twelve cones in a drawer...more if they aren't new cones, but I can fit a ton of the ones that stand.
II thought I might need a second one, but I think one will be work for my needs. I still feel like I should get one, just in case, but I may have to buy more thread to justify it.lol

I am amazed that you can fit all of that in there. Not that it doesn't hold a surprising amount for its size....I just have too much of everything to be able to fit it all in there. I could probably use a second one, just for notions.
Awesome! I seriously need to get to IKEA to get some storage. My craft area has quickly become a disaster area.

PAIF and SAIF welcome. IVF questions welcome, too.
Oh, and if anyone is going to look at them in the store, the one we saw had kind of 'sticky' drawers, and I wasn't too sure about it. When I was putting it together I realized that the problem was that they didn't bend the sides up far enough. I just made sure to fold in the center of the sides enough and mine works smoothly.

LOL Right now it is a more like a seamstress' nightmare! The parts that are organized are kind of fun, but the rest is a big archeological dig still. It will be some time before it is photo ready.
The studio is so bad that I have been piling fabric in one of the guest rooms, just so that I can actually get to the shelves in the studio. I can't yet make it to the closet. There is a path that is sort of an obstacle course, but I can utilize the shelves and my photo storage boxes, and get some exercise in the meantime.
I have discovered that being a perfectionist means that I am also a great procrastinator. I have to figure out exactly how I want to organize something before I can do anything with it. I am driving myself crazy. DH is staying out of it, except when I ask him to bring something to me or take something to the trash or recycling. Or to go to Ikea during his lunch to buy a thread organizer for me. Smart man.
Haha! I don't really have much. I buy things as I need them, but I do have a few extra things. I feel like I'm a stash failure, actually. :-P
