Good game Monday!
I was so happy that my Jayhawks hung in there and came back to within 6.
I bet Kentucky went crazy! I can remember what it was like in 2008!

They definitely did hang in there! Too bad that this was just Kentucky's year.
For most of us, it was very exciting but very anti-climactic because we pretty much knew we were going to win. As horribly as we played in the SEC tourney, but then turned around and played extremely well in all the games in the big tourney, there wasn't a team that could beat us. As for the yayhoos up in Lexington that were burning stuff and getting arrested and all that other crap... They don't represent the whole commonwealth. I'm convinced they were just doing most of that to show out for the media, not in actual spur-of-the-moment celebration. One reporter before the Louisville game said 'Well, we do like to burn couches up here!" and I believe people just too that and ran with it. Idiots.
That whole riot thing did look bad and the news that we saw of it didn't give the whole story. The media sucks most of the time!
That is too bad that people didn't get that excited. When KU won in 2008 there were 40,000 people in a 4 block stretch in our downtown area going crazy. It was soooo much fun! They made a video and show it before every game now and it still gives me goose bumps. If you are bored you should check it out (you can skip the first minute). And Laura - you man Paul is in the video!
Don't get me wrong, we were excited! And we will be until the next seasons starts! It's just that we didn't have to overcome anyone to get there. We didn't have to pull any upsets or anything. We were the number one #1 and stayed that way.
I do really want one of those championship t-shirts they were wearing afterwards. The grey ones. I thought those looked pretty awesome.
