Do you use tinted or original Primer Potion?

I've always used original but I need to order a new tube, and I'm wondering if I should try a tinted version instead? I usually wear tans//browns/blush colors so I was thinking Sin but if I wanted to wear a shade that it was out of this color palette, would it look weird? Does anyone who has used both have any insight? Thanks!

Re: Do you use tinted or original Primer Potion?

  • I use the original. I had a sample of Sin and while I liked it at first, I found it was really hard to wear shades that weren't in the same color scheme. You'd have to really cake them on to cover up the gold primer. I also found that my eyeshadow was wearing off and the golden color of Sin was showing through by the end of the day.

I would personally have a tube of both if you like Sin so you can use them in accordance to the shade you want to wear that day.

  • I actually just realized I was mixing up the color of Sin and Greed. Greed is the sample that I had that was very golden and shimmery. I think if Sin is more sheer and not as bright as Greed, it would be nice to see how it turns out!

Sin is also shimmery, but a champagne color more than gold. Eden is a matte beige, almost like a light yellowish concealer. I have both Sin and Eden and use Sin more frequently with the UD Naked palette (original) and Eden more with the Naked 2.

Oh that's good to know. So do you like Eden more than the original? I've found the original gives me a little bit of coverage without being too hard to mask with eyeshadow.

  • I have Sin and I like it. I typically wear similar color shadows. I've also tried the original but the Sin makes my shadow look a little richer. I bought my mom a small trio of the original, Green and Sin. She said she likes all of them.

  • I only use original because I apply to the area underneath my eyes (to keep my eyeliner and mascara from running), so I don't want any shimmer or tint in that area.

I've seen Sin on other people and it's really pretty.  They said it's an easy and quick eye makeup look: put on sin, a little eyeliner and mascara = done and done.

Actually I used to haaaate Eden. I thought that eyeshadows kinda looked blah over top of it (compared to Sin). However, I changed my mind after buying the UDNP2. I only had a sample of the original. If I used it twice, I used it a lot, so I can't comment on if it's better than the original.

  • I have Original, Sin and Greed. I use Original most of the time. Sin I really like though and sometimes wear on its own on the weekends, and I wear it with various other color combo. Greed I bought recently and am not loving as much, I don't think it blends as nicely as Sin. But I am holding my final judgement until I've had it a while longer.

So I'd say if you just get one, get Original but if you want to add another, go for Sin. I can't speak to the 4th one.

That's a good point. I normally put it under my eyes too, and I hadn't thought about that.

I wish they had the trio sampler in stock at Sephora! I rarely stray outside of the brownish color palette for my eyes so I think Sin would normally work great, but I also don't want to lock myself in to those colors. And I don't want to get 2 different shades b/c I won't use them quickly enough, and dried out PP is the WORST; it's like working with clay.

Thanks for the feedback so far!
