Re: Frosting recipes anyone?
I just put this on a chocolate cake yesterday. It's really good.
Peanut Butter Frosting
We also make this one all the time. We call it our birthday cake frosting. It is very thick and rich.
Birthday Cake Frosting
I like a cream cheese frosting that I put on pumpkin bars. It's sort of variable with the powdered sugar, because it depends on how thick or thin you want it to be.
Cream Cheese Frosting
1/2 stick butter, at room temp
4 oz cream cheese (I like the reduced fat, but either way works) room temp
1 tsp vanilla extract
3 - 4 cups powdered sugar (you may or may not need all of it)
Milk, just in case you want to thin out the frosting
Beat together cream cheese and butter until smooth, along with the vanilla. Slowly add powdered sugar (~1/2 C at a time), beating well, and scraping down the bowl as you go. Add powdered sugar until desired sweetness and consistency are reached. If the frosting is as sweet as you'd like it, but too thick, add some milk. This recipe is great on pumpkin bars and cinnamon rolls.
