Tattoo Cover Up Makeup

Hey ladies! I was wondering if you guys have and recs on makeup to cover tattoos? I'm in theatre and dance so I need to find a good makeup to cover mine for performing. Also it wouldn't be a bad idea for when I'm around my grandparents lol

For stage, I think the Ben Nye tattoo cover works best. I think my costume/makeup friends all use that or Make Up Forever Full Cover concealer.

Do you use the primer before the tattoo cover makeup? Because when I looked at it at Ulta the primer was awfully orange looking and I didn't see how it would blend.

No.  This is the product I use:

I just cover the tattoo with the cover creme and then use the setting powder.   There are 21 different shades, so I would think one would work well for you.  On my foot I'm the lightest color, pale ivory, which actually is a tiny bit too dark - but it becomes the right color after I dust it with the white setting powder.

I didn't even know about their primer.  I once tried the Leg & Body Cover, and it didn't work as well for me as the foundation.  The foundation is very thick - like you have to use a little took to scrape it out of the container, so it can be layered on pretty thick for excellent coverage.  The leg & body cover is creamier, so I had a hard time getting the same coverage.

Also, a trick to getting it to cover easier is to use a taupe colored brow or lip pencil, color over the tattoo, and then blend it into the skin before applying the foundation. It neutralizes the colors of the tattoo.

if you're in theatre, it should be relatively easy to get stage makeup, right? nothing I can buy in makeup stores has worked as well as Ben Nye or stage makeup for covering tatts.

My sister bought an expensive tattoo cover up for my wedding and all it looked like was she smeared a bunch of foundation over her tattoo. It would have been better without anything IMO. So I say don't bother, they don't really work.
