"Quick" rice and beans - seasoning?

Hi, there!

1. what the hell happened to everyone?

2. I have leftover Jerk chicken breast that I want to shred tonight and mix in with some rice and beans.

3. It will be 20 minute (brown) rice and canned beans, so any tips for flavoring or making it taste like it cooked for hours?  I plan to add the beans to the rice boil, before I put it to simmer so they'll soften more.  I have saffron.  I don't have any fresh herbs.
