xp: my cat ate part of a silicone basting brush

It had a little olive oil on it from last nights dinner and I left it in the sink.  It must have been in the last few hours because DH didn't notice it when he left for work.  He ate a little less than half of the bristles.  Anyone had experience with this?  I did call the vet and she said just to watch him since it could have been a few hours ago.

Re: xp: my cat ate part of a silicone basting brush

  • My cat eats bites of everything! Plastic bags, band aides, rubber hair bands, newspapers...we try to keep the house clean but she will pick up anything and eat it. Sometimes she throws it up, sometimes it comes out in her litter box. We've never had any issues yet. Id watch for it to come out, as long as she's eating an drinking she's probably passing it fine.

  • He should poop it out within a day or two, just make sure he is eating and drinking normally.

  • so far so good.  He ate it probably about 5 hours ago... so hopefully it's all ok
