  • Hmmm. I need a Snowflake Option. I'm only in one age bracket for another 10 days.

  • What's funny is that the group average has aged. I think a few years ago the majority were mid 20s.

  • I think I may be the oldest at 47

I was in my mid twenties a few years ago and thank you for the painful reminder that I no longer am.

  • Given the recent threads, I thought this was going to be a racial demographic poll. It took me a sec to readjust and I almost had to IM H to ask how old I am. Again.

I embraced 36 so much I got into a huge fight with DH when he tried telling me I was 37 and I insisted I was 36.  <he was right>

  • I'll be 30 next month.

Glad I'm not the only one who has to occassionally remember what year it is, then remember the year of my birth, then subtract.

  • I have NEVER been someone who wonders how old I am because I am a child about my birthday usually, but just the other day, another teacher asked me who old I was. I said, "Uh.......28." It took forever. I think it's because I'm trying to embrace 30 as it nears, though my birthday in 11 days will only be 29. Whew.

  • My 29th birthday was about 4 million times harder than my 30th.

    I actually loved my 30th.

I wish I could start forgetting how old I am, although 33 has been good to me so far.

  • I don't mind being 30. I like being a dramawhore, crying, and giving Sibil a hard time.

  • I'm surprised at these results, not because of any of the personalities on here but because I am so used to so many boards on the nest being younger, especially the Houston board. I think generally people marry younger in the south and it has skewed my perception of age on this board. I'll be 40 this year and can't wait. My 30s were the best and I think my 40s will even be better. And I'm having a prom for my 40th :P

  • I feel like such a fresh faced little beebee at 25!

My brothers and sisters are all in the late 30's, so I have plenty of "you're so old, you're like really old" material I'm going to save for a rainy day.

  • Like bunnybean, I am a child when it comes to my birthday. But I love celebrating all birthdays, not just my own, and it's a bummer when people don't feel the same way about birthdays. It's the best excuse for a Carvel cake.

I was sooooo excited to be turning 30 this month for a long long time until, well...this month. Now I'm kind of freaking out. There are things I said I refused to do until I'm in my 30s (namely, have children), and now that my 30s will be here shortly, OMGWTFBBQ.

I, for one, was excited to move into my 30s :)

I just remember doing a poll like this when we first started 4+ years ago.  Of course, all of us regulars have aged, but the surprise is that we haven't had a lot of people to replace the mid 20 crowd which I used to occupy.

  • I am going to be 35 this year.  This doesn't really bother me, mostly because I still get mistaken for a grad student on campus, and in my mind I still think I'm 27.

I think when I hit 40 there's going to be some fetal position rocking.

I turn 30 next week and I'm feeling the same. I'm kind of hoping that this will be the year that people stop calling me "young lady" and meeting me for he first time with the exclamation "I was expecting someone older."

    Not holding my breath though!

  • So far it's pretty much what I expected.  I'm 27 and it seemed to me like most posters were in their 30's.  Although I still feel like I'm about 23 most days so that could be part of it.

There was an article online sometime this week and it said 33 is the happiest year for people (I didn't read the article, just saw the headline - and since I'll be turning 40 this year I didn't care to read it, lol)

  • 28 here - will be 29 in July. Inching closer to 30!

See, I'm looking forward to my 30s for that reason. I'm married, I'm looking forward to having kids and settling solidly into a normal, boring, middle class life, lol. But I was kind of a hot mess for part of my 20s. So I'm much better off now than I was a decade ago.

I've always had the impression that this board was more in the early-to-mid 30s on average. I'm not sure if that's true for most of the nest, but I always feel like one of the younger, more guillable, possibly less experienced and dumber people here. Stick out tongue

I remember someone showing up with a kid in her sig and she was like a unicorn.

I don't know quite what to think of my second 29th birthday in August. I have the same thing as a few pp's where people finally aren't looking at me like an alien when I tell them my age, and that's nice, but at the same time "super young" has been such a part of my identity for so long, it's weird to leave it behind.

That's hilarious.  FWIW we're the same age and I have a hard time remembering too.  Maybe I'll "stick" at 36 anyway ;)
