NCR: what are you reading or recent reads?
Hi ladies! How is everyone? I so wish I got on here more :-/
We are headed to Cancun for 5 days next week......sweet! But, having a 2 year old has put a serious halt on my reading time, so I need to catch up in 5 days. Yeah, right!
Looking for some good reads. I started Cutting for Stone, but it just hasn't grabbed me yet.
Thanks!
Re: NCR: what are you reading or recent reads?
Hmm Cutting for Stone is on my list.
I just finally finished Hunger Games, I'm always late to these trend reads
I just started on the 4th Stephanie Plum book, Four to Score
I just finished the 2nd book in The Maze Runner trilogy-love those books.
I'm in the middle of 11/22/63 by Stephen King-it's good, but it's really long.
I'm reading Will Grayson, Will Grayson which is good so far. It's been recommended to me numerous times.
I'm reading Sarah's Key for my book club and it's interesting- I can't wait to see where it goes.
I just finished Paranormalcy which was awesome if you like paranormal books.
I read the Hunger Games books recently, I'm now reading the first Game of Thrones book. We watched the first season (on HBO) and loved it.
My wish list includes 11/22/63. I also still haven't read the second Dragon Tattoo book.
I read the hunger games trilogy earlier this year, and right now I'm on 11/22/62 by Stephen King. I'm only about 75/90 pages in to it, which isn't very far for a Stephen King book, but so far I'm liking it. I like his books though. It's not what everyone things of a Stephen King book - not horror. It's about time travel, and trying to stop the assassination of JFK. DH read it in only a few weeks, and given we had a 7 month old at the time, and it's a long book, that should say something about how good it is!
ETA: And it looks like I'm not the only one to suggest this. Should have looked before posting!
~~Our Family Blog~~
Hi Rolos- have fun in Mexico!!
Currently reading The Lonely Polygamist: A Novel (by Brady Udall) (based off of another board recc), other recent loves:
Room: A Novel (Emma Donoghue) (you've prob heard of it, maybe even rd already, but this is a definite MUST! Though maybe not happy vacay read...)
Growing up Amish (by Ira Wagler)
Climbing the Broken Stairs, a memoir (by Frieda Adkins)
Ok, so reading over now- I'm kinda realizing my recent read list is a bit on the mega depressing side (sorry!)... BUT very interesting books, all flowed rather quickly!
Give Cutting for Stone a chance, it is a good read.
I recently finished Aftertaste: A Novel in Five Courses and I enjoyed it.
I am currently reading Mrs. Peregrine's Home for Pecuiliar Children and Nineteen Minutes.
So Tasty, So Yummy
I'm currently reading (and thoroughly enjoying) Life on the Line by Grant Achatz.
Recent reads have included: Another Piece of my Heart by Jane Green, Home Front by Kristin Hannah (but OH, the tears), and I've Got Your Number by Sophie Kinsella.
If you like a paranormal bent and dig sexiness, the Black Dagger Brotherhood is phenomenal. I have the most recent one in my To Read pile and I can't wait to pick it up. DH really likes when I read these
