My Husband and I moved into a house in the fall, and we're ready to deal with the yard part of owning a house. I grew up in a home where my father would sooner die than let anyone lay a finger on his lawn. My husband grew up in the woods, without any lawn to manage. The bottom line is that we know nothing. I've never even cared for a house plant.
Anyone have a good suggestion for a place to start? Website? Book? TIA.
Re: New to Lawn Care
I swear by the Scotts 4-Step Program. My H has done this almost every year we've lived here and our grass was so nice all the neighbors call him grass man. We didn't do it 2 years and our grass turned to almost all crabgrass. We are now trying to recover from that and it seems to be going good so far this year.
We also use Weed & Feed in between the 4 steps to keep dandelions down. I dont actually cut the grass myself but I know he changes the direction he cuts it every week and he uses a bagger to catch all the clippings.
