hi all! the house we are buying has been freshly painted, and although I've asked my R/E agent to find out the color (it's an off-white, but if you've been paint cards, you know there are 1 zillion "off-whites" ) she has said unless it's the same batch, it will have variations, etc etc, which I knew, but either way, I need advice.
The house is old and has no light switches. We have an electrician who could put them in, but in order to do that, he would need to open the wall (and that area would eventually need to be repainted).
The paint job is beautiful and fresh and fits the house well, so I don't want to mess with it. I was also told that I could get them to match a sample, which again, won't match exactly, etc etc.... so I'm curious from maybe someone who knows more than me on this...
what would you do?
Re: seeking paint advice
I'd get light switches.
I cannot be fumbling in the dark for a lamp's on knob. Too dangerous for me knocking stuff over and tripping.
Also, he shouldn't have to cut in that much. Plus, you will have plates over the outlets to cover the electrical devices and the drywall holes.
Find out the color and brand and get some to do the little touch-ups that you need.
