CHI vs T3 vs Sedu vs....

I'm looking for opinions on hair straighteners for someone who has basically straight hair.  I'm looking for something for the morning or when I've had my hair up for awhile.  I've used the CHI before and it worked well but I just wanted to know if I paid more would I be happier with the results?  I know one of the models I'm looking at of the CHI is $99 at ulta right now but just wanted input if another brand is "healthier"/better.  Again, I have straight hair and this would be just to make 2nd day hair more manageable but I need it to work first pull thru.

For the past, 8 months or so I've been using a Remington 1'' straightener and i HATE IT.  It gets so hot I cannot even pick it up to use it and the times I do pick it up my hands always hit the buttons to raise the temperature.

TIA!

Re: CHI vs T3 vs Sedu vs....

  • my CHI straightens my naturally wavy hair on first pull through, and it's the only brand I've used. I've never seen a need to pay $100+ for a flatiron when my $75-90 (depending on the sale) one works just as well. my stylist uses a GHD, I think, but there's been no difference in how my hair looks or feels with either flatiron.

  • I have a Babybliss mini iron that I use on my bangs.  I really like the brand and would totally buy the larger version.
  • I have stick-straight hair, but use the flat iron every mornibng to get my hair to lay the way I want it to. I've had the same Chi Turbo for going on 8 years and it has been great.

I actually thought it died last week and I got a little sad. Turns out I just needed to push the reset button on the outlet...crisis averted :)

  • I used to have a chi and liked it, but when it broke I got a Solia and I love it. It has lasted longe than the Chi and is still working perfectly. It was also a little less expensive.

  • I had a Chi years ago and it shorted out within months(common problem).  I then bought a T3 and didn't like it, I didn't feel like it got hot enough.  I've had my Sedu since 2009 and LOVE it!
