Need endings for Grey's and American Idol

I hate this crap of going over the time and the DVR shuts off.  Can someone tell me what happened at the end of Greys and AI?

I don't watch American Idol anymore, but I read that Jennifer wanted to save DeAndre, but the other two judges overruled her.  I think that Hollie and one other girl were in the bottom three. (?)  Sorry if this is not what you wanted.

Thanks!  He was singing to the judges to try to stay on when the DVR kicked off so I didn't know if they saved him.

I think you can set certain shows to record X minutes past it's normal stop time.  We watch Late Night with Jimmy Fallon all the time and sometimes there's a show that lasts too long, which bumps the news, which bumps Jay, which bumps Jimmy!  After a few times, we set the series settings to record an extra 30 minutes.
