This is a peony, right?
I have them in my flower beds so I think I know what they look like, but this one suddenly popped up in the little strip of grass next to my driveway, which seems bizarre. Also, if it is a peony, do you think I can dig it up and transplant it at this stage? Sorry the pic might be big, but I didn't think you could really see it in the smaller pic.

I think it is! That weirdly looks just like you could have taken that in my backyard! I have a sprout just like that next to the same type fence with the same green things growing on the bottom (I"m still learning all my flowers, weeds, groundcover)
:-) It is now in my side bed with the rest of my peonies. I know in my side yard, before there was a fence apparently there were peonies planted there, but now that there's a privacy fence and a bunch of tall shrubs on the other side, they don't get any sun. I dug them all up this fall and transplanted them to the side yard...maybe there were some along the side of the driveway before this fence was built too? But it's weird they never came up before...we've lived here for four years.
