I saw in the vet recommended food post below that you have a guide to see about calories for weight loss. Do you think there's anyway I could get you to look it up for my kitty or point me to a resource I could use to do it myself? My cat is 14 lbs and her ideal weight is around 11 lbs. I feed her Chicken Soup for the Cat Lover's Soul but I'm going to pick up some high quality fish free wet food for her today. I'm just wondering how much to feed (which I don't really know since I don't know how many calories she should be getting).
Re: :: Harlows*Secret ::
Thank you! I'll give them a call to find out the protein content. I'm using the lite adult formula. I had been feeding her Wellness but just switched. They're mixed 50/50 right now since I didn't want to shake things up too much by switching quickly though she greatly prefers the Chicken Soup.
I'm not sure about the ratio of wet to dry. I actually just got wet food for the first time. She doesn't seem to want much wet food at a time - only about a teaspoon. I'll check back once I get the protein info.
Wet food = 148 kcal/can
Dry food = 302 kcal/cup
I finally got it!
10.2 grams of protein are in 100 k/cals for the dry lite formula
11.1 grams of protein are in 100 k/cals for the wet lite formula
