OK, so after cleaning it up a bit and discussing the planned repairs with DH, I'm starting to think it's adorable. I do still think it's riduculously short, but so am I, so it's not uncomfortable for me for working in a bowl or stock pot. I'm thinking about buying a marble slab for the top both for my doughs and to raise it up a bit. Not sure that will work if the surface isn't perfectly flat, which I'm sure it's not. Maybe we could build some sort of frame underneath the marble slab to stabilize it? I'll have to talk to a marble counter person I think.
