What is a highlighter (and how does it compare to blush)?
There was a post a few days back about a highlighter, and someone mentioned the Diorskin Shimmer Star.
I was reading online about it- how does it differ from a blush? Do you use both?
How do you use a highlighter?

Got it. But it doesn't sparkle like crazy right? Is it usually for evening wear?
I use both, the highlighter picks up the light and gives the "dewy" effect. They come in powders or creams and can be pigmented. The one I use isn't, though.
Here's a video of my favorite make up artist explaining how to use different highlighters

Some do, so be sure you swatch before buying. I wear mine day and night, but avoid ones with anything stronger than light shimmer.

This diagram shows exactly where I place highlight. I do contour color, blush and then highlight on top. It sounds like a lot, but when done correctly, it really doesn't look like a lot at all
