What kind of rug would you get with this sofa?

I think in the "dawn smoke" fabric, which is a charcoal grey with some texture to it.  We're also going to buy a matching arm chair.

I'm torn on what to do rug-wise, and on whether we should do a pattern or go with something solid. 

Any suggestions?

You need a pattern, no question.  Look in a magazine or Pinterest and notice that great rooms have patterns: stripes, geometrics, florals, etc.  Since you'll be starting with a big visual hunk of solid gray, choose a rug that has a little gray but a lot of whatever accent colors you want to work with.
