I have a crazy day on Monday, but wanted to get the FOTD posts started again, so I'm posing my weekend pics. I look forward to checking everyone's looks at the end of the day tomorrow!
Sunday:
Face: Clinique BB, Cover Girl Clean pressed powder, Benefit blush in Bella Bamba, Revlon Skinlights Illuminator. I've been doing MOM as a mattifier, but forgot to put it on this morning.
Eyes: Too Faced eye shadow primer, shadows from Stila's In the Garden Palette (LOVE. I used mostly a blue shadow) and eye liner that came with the palette, Benefit High Brow, Maybelline Falsies mascara
Lips: Revlon colorburst lipstick in Soft Nude, Stila Lip Glaze in Kitten
Saturday:
Face: Milk of Magnesia applied sparingly to mattify, Clinique BB, Cover Girl Clean pressed powder, Revlon Skinlights Illuminator. I bumped my Retin-A up to .1% from .05%, so you may notice a few peelies.
Eyes: Shadows from Stila's In the Garden Palette (I used mostly a green shadow) and eye liner that came with the palette, Benefit High Brow, Maybelline Falsies mascara.
Lips: Stila Lip Glaze in Grapefruit
I also have a couple reviews:
Milk of Magnesia as a mattifier: LOVE, LOVE, LOVE. It is extremely effective. I've used it for two days. The first I applied liberally and had no oil at all the entire 9 hous I had it on. The second day I applied sparingly, and kept me completely matte for 10 hours. After 10 hours I had just a tiny bit of shine and blotted it off easily. Also, six of those 10 hours were spent outdoors in the direct sun. This stuff is fantastic. Another poster in a post about this over the weekend said she used a mixture of 50% MOM and 50% water as a mattifier for about 6 months and it worked very well. She only stopped because she stopped having issues with oil and breakouts. I do think the MOM is very strong and can see why some on MUA say it dried them out, so I think her idea of cutting it with water is great. I'm going to use a travel toiletry bottle and do 2/3 MOM and 1/3 water and see how that works. The little bottle will fit into my cometics case and it will be easier to put it onto a cotton ball from the smaller bottle.
The MOM has no smell at all (be sure to get an unflavored formula!) and goes on easy using a cotton ball (it felt like water going on). It dries in under a minute, and there will be a few chalky spots after drying. Those blend away quickly using a dry cotton ball. A big bottle of this was $3 at Target.
This is me on Saturday after around 10 hours, again 6 of these outdoors in direct sun. The only makeup touch up was reapplying lip gloss. Just a tiny bit of oil is on my forehead and cheeks by my nose.
Monistat Chafing Gel as a primer: This has been compared to the Smashbox Photo Finish primer. I've never used the Smashbox, so I can't compare the two, but I was impressed with this product as a primer. It has that really smooth and nice silicone feeling when applying it to the face. Primer isn't something I use a lot as the payoff doesn't seem to really be worth the time applying and the money. However, the Monistat is so cheap (was on sale for $5 at Target. I believe $6 was regualr price) that I'll use it from time to time. I'm especially interested in using it under my eyes to smooth out the fine lines I have in that area.
I highly recommend trying both Milk of Magnesia and also the Monistat gel before trying an expensive brand of mattifier or primer!
Re: Monday FOTD, makeup/skincare reviews and purchases (done early)
No new purchases, but I am returning a few items...Mario Badescu acne products - specifically the drying and buffering lotion. I can see why this would work for most people, but sadly my acne is mostly hormonal. I'm also returning the Philosophy microdelivery exfoliating wash....I like it, but not for the price. My Pretika does the same thing.
I recently bought the DDF oil control acne serum with glycolic acid. I'm only on day 2, but my skin is incredible soft and my acne is starting to clear up. It is so, so with oil control. The Murad SPF mattefying lotion is better for that. I may try MOM once my skin is cleared up more.
I rediscovered my Smashbox soft fusion highlighter this weekend...I forgot I had a biggish sample and I've been using it over my blush for a little brightening
love your makeup!
No FOTD because I'm totally paranoid, but lots of purchases and a few things to review as well.
-Rouge Bunny Rouge eyeshadow in Delicate Hummingbird. Gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous purple with taupe undertones. The price was outrageous since I had to order it from a UK company, but worth every penny. Photos pending on my blog (review is written, I just need to take the pics tomorrow morning).
-Rouge Bunny Rouge lipgloss in Crisp Sorbet. I posted about this yesterday, but OMG LOVE, LOVE, LOVE. Seriously, I am not a gloss girl, but I had to buy another tube immediately (again, in spite of the insane price at zuneta.com) because it's a gloss I'm actually going to wear more than twice a year. It's moisturizing, feels really comfortable on the lips, and is a great MLBB shade.
(purchased but not received yet)
-Laura Mercier Caviar Eye Stick in Khaki, Dior Lip Glow in Crystal Coral, Tarte Amazonian Clay blush in Natural Beauty, Clinique Acne Healing Gel, KP Duty moisturizer, L'Oreal Infallible eyeshadow in Brozned Taupe, and a NARS duo eyeshadow in Charade.
It was a very, very expensive weekend in my house. No more FBR purchases for me until May.
ETA: I'm returning the Murad Mattifying Lotion. It worked, just not long enough for me to justify the price. I bought more UD De-Slick pressed powder in its place, and am satisfied with the trade-off. I'll be trying MOM soon.

I just checked UPS tracking for my Ulta order, and it will be here tomorrow!
I ordered a mini Tarte Amazonian Clay blush in Dollface and mini Tarte bronzer in Park Avenue Princess, some NYX jumbo eye pencils (I love these!!), a couple NYX jumbo lipstick pencils (these look awesome), NYX "Slide On" pencils (UD knock offs) in some fun colors, and a couple of Rimmel glosses. I also got a free gift, which is a cute bag with 10 deluxe samples.
Awww, thank you. I prefer the blond, too. DH likes it dark better. I wore blush for the first time in probably 10 years in this pic. I've felt like my skin was so pink already that it wouldn't look good to add more pink to it, but I actually like it. The Stila Kitten lip glaze is my favorite gloss. It's a really pretty nude shimmer.
I googled Delicate Hummingbird and it's very pretty!
I wish the Rouge Bunny Rouge gloss weren't so expensive. I've been searching for a new gloss to try, but at the price of these I don't want to buy it and risk not liking it (and not having a makeup counter nearby for an easy return).
I'm looking forward to hearing your review of MOM.
Go Dawgs your FOTD is amazing! Love your look.
I'm not doing FOTD. I have a little more chins than I would like! LOL!! And my OOTD are usually covered in yogurt etc from little one. I WAH so it's slightly okay.
Products I'm Loving:
NARS Desire blush - thank you to all those ladies who told me to KEEP it! I am so happy I did. It's a perfect summer pink with cool undertones
LM TM or SCF - LOVE. There is no turning back. These are holy grail products.
Buxom Tonya Lipgloss - love this and I'd never tried the brand
Sephora - Pin up Girl - Love this too!
I took a picture last weekend but never saw a thread started last week so I guess I can post it now!
Face: Dior Hydra Life BB Cream (I had a sample and it's way too orange, compare my face to my body in this pic lol), Tarte Smooth Operator powder in Bronze, Tarte Dark Circle Defense Under Eye Corrector, Maybelline Dark Circle Eraser in Brightening, Tarte Amazonian Clay blush in Natural Beauty
Eyes: UD Primer Potion, shadow from UD Naked 2 (don't remember), UD 24/7 liner in Stash, Diorshow Blackout waterproof mascara
Lips: Cherry Chapstick
Recent buys: Tarte Smooth Operator powder in translucent, I like the bronze but I'm not quite tan enough for it yet
Teeah you are gorgeous!
I'm not wearing makeup yet. I'll be heading to the gym in a little bit.
Recent purchases: Beyond Belief Vitamin C serum, eye treatment and face wash. Love all three!
Just bought Too Faced Mirror Mirror Lipgloss in I'm Perfect but it hasn't shipped yet. Also, my Birchbox will be here today.
