What size bed in guest room?
What size bed do you have in your guest room? We are torn between Full & Queen. It's a small room so queen would be tight to walk in the room but for sleeping, obviously queen would be better.
FWIW, we don't get many guests.
Re: What size bed in guest room?
I have full beds in both my guestrooms. No real reason. It's just what we had (one was mine from my apt. the other Hs). They are both in great shape and comfy.
We'd have queen if I needed too though. Little space in a guestroom doesn't bother me. I feel like guests would rather have a bigger bed than floor space.
We have full size in both of our guest rooms. We have really small guest rooms though. My parents were our only guests that were used to sleeping on anything larger than a full (which coincidentally is the same size bed that they have in their guest room), and they never complained.
DH and I have shared a twin bed in someone's guest room.lol We figure that a free bed is better than having to pay for a hotel, and a full is much better than a twin.
ETA: We sleep on a full size bed though, so to us it is the perfect size.

Well, as is always the problem with twins, most adults don't like them. Will the vacation home have primarily children visiting it? They think it's fun.
Plus, you'll have to buy two sets of bedding and 2 bed frames - you may not save as much money as you think you will. If you've got room for 2 twins, you've definitely got room for a queen, so I'd just put that in.

We have full beds in our guestroom and guesthouse because that's what we had when we got married. The couple we have most often is my parents, but, while happily married, they haven't slept together for the last 30 years, haha, so they each get a full bed to themselves. My sister and her husband shared the double for a week, and that was fine. DH and I can share a full very comfortably but we bought a queen for ourselves after several years on a full. I guess it just depends on how crowded the room is, but if it's free, I wouldn't care too much either way.
We couldn't fit a queen in the guestroom if we wanted to. If I had to buy something new for the guesthouse, I'd probabaly do two twins. They could be shoved together to form a king if necessary for a couple or accommodate two people who didn't want to share a bed. Doesn't sounds like you'd have the space for that though.
We have a full size. In our previous home, the guest room was teeny tiny so we put in a full so there would be room for a dresser.
besides, I wouldn't want my guests to get too comfortable...
We have an ikea daybed with the pull-out that turns it from a twin into a king. DH and I usually sleep in there when we have parental guests (so that the parents/ILs have the master bathroom to themselves) and it's really quite comfortable.
FWIW, our guest room is essentially 8x6. So the pull-out turns the room into one giant bed. However, it's easy to push closed again for room to change clothes, etc.
We have a full in one guest room, and a twin daybed with a trundle in the other. Both were leftover furniture from previous homes with smaller rooms than what we have now.
If I was buying a new guest bed, I would have a queen instead of a full. We're used to sleeping on a king, so for us, even a queen seems a little bit small, a full feels uncomfortably small. I feel bad when couples who normally sleep on a king come to stay at our house and have to sleep on the full. It's doable for a night or two, but longer than that, a full wouldn't be ideal for a couple who's not used to a bed that small.
But ... I could see making a different choice depending on a) size of the room, b) how long your guests normally stay, and c) if your guests are usually couples or singles.
