How was your weekend?

Hope everyone had a good holiday if you celebrated.

Friday I downloaded and read 50 Shades of Grey--really good book.  It's been called "Mommy Porn" by reviewers.  I'm currently on the 3rd book of the trilogy--rawr!

My brother, SIL and nephew stayed at my parents house with me this weekend.  Saturday we celebrated Passover.  I gave my nephew a bath with glowsticks and I'm officially the coolest Aunt ever.

Sunday we went to Easter brunch where I stuffed my face.  So yummy!

Sunday night I went to JD's house (the second chance guy-in blog) and we had some wine and watched a movie.  Ok, the movie sucked so we had some wine and then got frisky in front of his fireplace, which has a full mirrored wall opposite it (he bought the house from a pro ballerina--lots of mirrors for practice).  Between the firelight and our reflections, it was super hot! Re: How was your weekend?

  • I got locked out of my account and haven't been on the Nest in a while but hoping to join in again.....

Friday I took the kids 'hiking' and they had a blast throwing rocks in a creek, then out to dinner.

Saturday I took them to a kiddie hair/nail place, out to lunch, and my grandmom came to see them.  Then I was supposed to have a first date but I got STOOD UP... so I spent $25 on 2 hours on a babysitter only to end up hitting the grocery store.

Sunday the bunny came, they had an egg hunt at our place, at church, and at a friends in the afternoon.  Overall it was a great weekend except for the fact that my first date after a break up stood me up.

  • We had ad ecent Easter, but I lost a whole day that I usually use for errends and cleaning! Oh well!

I did get to go out and see "The Hunger Games" and I read the 2nd and 3rd book this weekend instead of watching any TV. Now, like always when I finish a series of books, I am sad that it is over.

  • I was kid-free all weekend so I enjoyed the quiet and the ability to do what I wanted, when I wanted! By about noon on Sunday, I was missing my kiddos and was happy to have the chaos back!

Sorry you got stood up!!  Did you hear from the guy at all?

Friday night I went to First Friday in our art district.  It was kind of cool.  A little more hip than I am, but still fun to experience.

Saturday I just went out with my girl friend to the bar we always go to when she doesn't have her children.

Sunday I had every intention of going to church, but didn't make it.  The same girl friend asked me to come over and hang out on her new patio.  It was a nice fun, yet low key weekend!

  • Friday - dropped DD off with her dad, and then had a first date.  Mini golf (I lost, but not by much!), and dinner at Red Bean's Bayou Grill (YUM!!).  It was good - just got a little awkward at the end.  He says he wants to hang out again - so we'll see!

Saturday - I had to work during the day - and then went to a little get-together that my friends had that evening.

Sunday - since DD was at her dad's, my mom and I tried to go shopping - and failed because EVERYTHING was closed, except Sears and Wal-Mart.  So we went to the casino, and I proceeded to lose money.

  • Went to NOLA for a 10K race.

Drove there Friday night, partied hardy, didn't go to bed until 4am, woke up at 7:45 to get ready for the race and I noticed I had a black eye!  I have NO idea how it happened. It is looking a bit better today, but it is still bruised. I felt sorry for the BF because we were walking all around NOLA with my black eye and people kept staring at us! HA HA.  Poor BF.

  • Went to Oriole's Opening Day Friday and they WON!  Yay!  Went out for a few drinks with my sister that night.

Saturday was kind of lazy.  Dyed eggs with the family that night.

Family dinner yesterday.  Dinner was delicious, we went to one of my favorite restaurants.

The day I left was just my beginning.
  • Mine was really pretty boring, which was my intention since I'll be partying in LA and San Diego this coming weekend. Did some shopping for my trip Sat night and ran 8 miles Easter morning, during which I got a Happy Easter text from the exBF. Since I know he's not one to send out a mass holiday greeting text I know he was probably feeling low with nowhere to go for Easter. Oh well, you made your bed!!

Hey Starbust! Do you live in CA? Where in LA/SD will you be and when?

  • Crazy busy!

Friday night was an engagement party for my bff and her fiance.  So J and I went to that and he met a TON of people from my hometown.

Saturday Easter egg hunt with DS.  Then J and I went to lunch with BFF and her FI.

Saturday night hung out with my aunt who was in town.

Sunday morning, Easter baskets with DS.  Then XH picked up DS for their four hour visitation.  When he dropped DS back off it was at my parents house.  He and J ended up meeting which was really awkard because it was at the exact same time that J met my dad.  I also met XH's GF.  That was actually the least awkward thing out of the whole day!

I actually live in Boston - I'm flying out to visit a friend who lives in Marina Del Ray, then on Sunday we're driving down to SD for the opening of the Hard Rock pool there and spending the night, then I fly home on Monday. Whirlwind tour!! Are you in LA?

  • I had a great weekend! On Friday, our systems crashed at work at 8:30am and by 11am they sent us all home. I squeezed in a quick run, grabbed my kids from daycare and then we took a glorious 3 hr nap and then hit the pool that night. Saturday was low key, running errands and whatnot and finally finished my taxes. Monday got together with my family for Easter Brunch and then my kids went with their Dad in the afternoon, so the BF came down and we spent the rest of the day together and had a nice dinner out. All in all, a very nice weekend.

  • I had a great weekend! I had Friday off for Good Friday.

Friday, I hung out at the pool with D.

Saturday, D & I went hiking at one of the state parks a couple hours away which was awesome! I love the outdoors and am so glad I have finally found someone that like to do things.

Sunday, D & I went for breakfast, canoeing then walking at a local lake, hung out at a coffee shop on the lake and split dessert, and then went back to his place to watch a movie while he cooked me dinner.

  • Friday was Passover dinner with the family.

Saturday, I ran some errands, and Passover dinner with family again.

Sunday I had a second date with 'S'. Since it was Easter, and practically nothing was open, we found that the zoo was open, and we did that. We had a lot of fun, then went to dinner. We're supposed to go out for date #3 on Wednesday.

So far, he's a great guy, and I'm really enjoying spending time with him and getting to know him. The only negative, is he's about ?" shorter than me withOUT heels. I realize this is all a mental thing for me, and he even said he doesn't care about women being taller than him. How do I get past this?
