Nooner

What is the clean eating cleanse you are doing? Is it a week or a month?

Re: Nooner

  • It's 10 days.  Nothing processed. No booze, no caffiene.  Just whole fruits, veggies, lean protein (chicken, eggs, fish, very lean cuts of beef).  Any grain has to be whole - brown rice, oatmeal, bulgur, quinoa.  LOTS of water.

It hasn't been easy, but I can already feel a difference.  I felt like I was carrying SO much water weight, especially dealing with this lactose intolerance thing.  Just doing it last week, I've already lost 5 lbs and a few inches.

I can send you the details and meal schedule I've been using if you want.

  • oh, and there's like a phase 2 where you start incorporating in more blends of whole grains - like whole wheat pasta, tortillas, etc.  That's 14 days after the inital 10 - 24 days total.

It's based on the Advocare 24 Day challenge.  Only I'm not using their products, just the menu plan.  My girlfriend did the full program, loved the results.  I just wasn't down for spending the money on the products.

If you can send it, that would be great! I think the no caffeine would be the hardest! Can you have any dairy on the plan if you are lactose tolerant? What about oils on salad, etc?

  • No dairy the first 10 day (lactose intolerant or not).  I can't remember if you can have dairy in the last 14, I'll have to check.  I've been using balsalmic salad dressing.  It recommends an 80% compliance to the plan, so I wasn't too worried about the salad dressing.

I'm trying to get ready to leave for work, I'll send it when I get settled at work.

  • Cleanse Phase

    Max Phase

My day (Cleanse Phase) looks like this:

Breakfast: bowl of mixed fruit (pineapple, strawberries, blackberries)

Mid-morning: 2 hard boiled eggs, 2 servings of grapes

Lunch: big salad with spinach/baby greens, bell pepper, cucumber, tomato, chopped grilled chicken, balsalmic dressing

Snack: 1/3 cup salted almonds, an apple

Dinner: some kind of protein (chicken, shrimp, fish, elk), green veggie, maybe some brown rice.  I've been taking 2 fish oils at dinner instead of their omega-3 complex.

Snack: (if needed) some more grapes.

The no-caffeine has been a little rough, mostly the first few days.  Now I'm not really bothered by it, feel a lot better without it actually.  I've been drinking so much water I feel a lot more natural energy. I actually got a few of the Spark drink mixes from my friend who did it, that helped get me through those first few days. They have tons of Vitamin B, so kind of gave me a little boost to get over the after-lunch coma feeling. I might actually order some for the next round, I'm not sure yet.
