Did I just ruin dinner? Help!

So I'm making BBQ chicken in the crockpot. (Here is the recipe.

I only had half the chicken the recipe calls for, so I halfed everything. No biggie, done it before.

Expect by the time I got to the liquid, I forgot to half it and put the full amount in. It's all mixed together now, and no real way (that I can think of) to take it out. Am I going to have super runny chicken, or did I ruin it?

Re: Did I just ruin dinner? Help!

  • That recipe looks good.  I probably would have put in a little more than half of the liquid because I tend to like more sauce with my meat.  Did it seem like too much when you were putting everything in the crock pot?

  • Not really. All the meat is covered, but no by a ton. (If that makes sense.) I'm hoping because it's mainly a ton of extra BBQ sauce and not actual liquid, it will be okay. It's only a few ounces extra of the beer.

I hope!! I was really excited to try the recipe, and don't want to ruin it!

  • Before serving it, you could, take out the chicken and put he liquid in a saucepan and reduce it on the stove.  A bit more work, but will help if too liquidy.
  • It'll still be fine, just saucier.  Pull the chicken out with a slotted spoon or tongs, and reduce the sauce if it's too liquid.  It's certainly not ruined!
