RE: My recent dating "success"

I have to laugh at "success" because I really don't think any have chalked up to that yet!

But in respones to BK's: How did you get 3 dates in a week wtih guys that have most of your "must haves"?

The bigger question for me is how are you finding 3 guys in one week that fit (or almost fit) your "long list" of must haves?  Let us in on your secret!

Honestly...I don't know! This was a particularly busy dating week that just so happened that way!

1. I'm on Match (or, was as my subscription just ended) which I think is the best out of any of them

2. They've all contacted me first. I've started doing this more recently and found better success. I dont' go back and forth a ton on email (I had previously but this never seems to work out) but I try and get a good vibe. If it's a good vibe (can they form proper sentences? Are they engaging?) then I proceed.

3.  I'm pretty picky! I won't go out or start contact with someone unless off the bat they hit 75% of my must haves...I make sure I do have some qualities that narrow down a bit (like, I specificy level of education, etc.) so initally, I know they're at least in my "range" of what I want. I don't want to waste my time with someone who is less than what I want (um, besides a drinker apparently!)

Ultimately, I find that with everyone I go out with, I fine tune what I want just a little more. Practice makes perfect, right? I've gone out with quite alot of guys in the past few months, so I guess I'm getting pretty good at it!?

If anyone else has any other advice, please chime in! I know alot of the SO lurkers probably want to know any dating "secrets", too (heck, I do, too!)

  • Do you live in a large metro area?  I think that is one of the reasons I have trouble meeting decent guys, is that I live in a smaller city and much less selection.  (when I lived in the NY area dating was WAY different)  Plus I'm in the bible belt so most people get married younger and I would guess lower divorce rate.  At least it seems like there are few divorced people.

It's fairly large, so yes. A younger population and certainly not the Bible Belt, either!
