New screen name

Hi all!

MrsLokiAngel here, I wanted to ditch my old screen name because I didn't really identify with it anymore. Sessalee is my family nickname, it is (apparently) what I called myself as a child, because I could not pronounce my own name. I'm still happily married and have my husband's running blog below in my sig, some of you may follow him.

Some of you that don't know me, I've only recently started posting again. I've got a long weight loss story, but I'm now .8lbs from hitting the 50lbs lost mark! I don't know my weight goal really, I know I was 135 in college and a size 8 (I'm 5'1"), and very squishy. Right now I am about 40lbs up on that and a borderline size 12/14, but significantly more muscular. My goal is a size 8, whatever weight that might be. I'm guessing about 145-50 with my new significantly more muscular build?

For exercise, I train in MMA 2-4x/week, one zumba class (mostly for fun, it's not a great workout anymore, but I love to dance!) and I've recently taken up running as well, though I should use the term 'running' lightly.

Anyway, hi :)

  • Impressive loss and that you are 40 pounds heavier then your lightest but look much better! I am interested to hear more on your MMA training?!

  • Thanks! I wish I had some decent before/current pics. I'll keep digging.

What would you like to know about MMA?

I stumbled on it about 18 months ago, and I'm a complete addict. Each session consists of a warmup (plyometrics, some circuit training, and jogging/sprints), mit/glove/kick work for the majority of the time, then ab work at the end. Never are 2 sessions the same, and we work different techniques each session. There is nothing better on a bad day than to kick the crap out of an air shield or heavy bag!  It has made me realize how strong I can be, and I love it.

  • Completely forgot to sign out of the old account on the work PC! Hah!
