Some pix of kitchen redo- LIP

I have a few pix. We painted, added trim, new counters and faucet. Bonus pix of my $75 CL table & chairs with new fabric and my beautiful CL barstools. It was the world's ugliest kitchen, peach laminate counters that ran up the wall (the yellow in the pix is the glue. Still need to do a backsplash), pinkish pickled oak cabinets, oversized white ceramic knobs. Blech.

First three are of the seller's stuff. The rest are mine. I have a few more to add to the album, need to transfer from camera to flicker.

  • Details:

Cabinet Transformations in Linen, no glaze. Tedious, but very pleased with results.

Counter is LG Hausys Solid Surface in Merapi. Love it, and the installers were terrific. Bought from Lowe's.

Faucet is some cheap one from Overstock. It was less than $100 with the soap pump. I bought it when we were just going to do a quick fix, I would buy a nicer one if I were doing it now. Embarrassed

Hardware is from Overstock, brand is Stone Mill, name Hawthorne in brushed Nickel. Love it.

  • Wow, what a difference that crown molding makes!  I wish there was a photo where you had backed up to let us see the whole effect.  Great new countertop and faucet :)
  • I'm OOT, and still missing one drawer front. Misdrilled the holes. Oops. I need to repaint, redrill and put it up then I can do shots that match the originals. There is also a new (to me) chandelier. And I have pix of the adjoining LR, the new side tables are in my truck to come home with me. No more big fish on the wall (DH offered to buy them from the seller!) and no more sofas against the walls. All I really need are floors, and I can stick a fork in it.

I put pull outs under the sink, I love not having sponges with no home. When we added the crown molding, we also added  a 1x6 over part of it and raised the cabinet with the microwave up higher. The original microwave hung down a crazy amount.DH was skeptical until the paint was almost done. He loves it now!

This was mostly a budget redo, we aren't sure we are staying in the house, so the only splurge was the counters. And they are awesome! The stove was a CL find, the dishwasher I had to replace (but the crappy home warranty covered about 1/2), and the old fridge was so big it stuck out in front of the doorway. I sold the old stove, the microwave that came with it (we wanted a smaller one) and the fridge on CL for a total of $225, it almost paid for the paint & new microwave. I bought the stove & dishwasher last summer with tips, so I feel like they didn't come out of the family budget. I think our out of pocket so far is less than $5000 with the appliances, and $3000 of that was the counters. Gulp. If we had done laminate, it would have been about 1/2. But the seamless sink really called our names...

I will do the total shot and PIP in a few days, it is easier on the dreaded PC at home.

  • That kitchen looks sooo much better! Lovely!

As a random question, where did you get that K-cup holder? I would love to get one like that, as we have one that sits on the counter and takes up so much space!

  • Looks great!

Amazon.com. Looks like it is in stock right now. If you have a corner cabinet, it comes in XL, too.

  • Nice! The new kitchen table & chairs are so fun!
