I have been looking a lot at dishes (dont know why) I love the idea of having nice bright spring/summer dishes... Something to use on a nice day outside to eat on the deck. Anyone have spring/summer dishes.. I am thinking something like these
but less expensive as.. just wondering if this is crazy to have dishes for a season
Re: spring/summer dishes
Instead of having dishes for each season, why not do seasonal placemats and napkins? Cheaper and easier to store!
My summer dishes are usually the $1 per bundle plastic sets from Target. They are dishwasher safe, colorful and I don't care if someone melts one near the grill.
I'm cheap.
I don't see much of a reason to spend a lot of money on something that is going to be used outside for burgers, hotdogs, and steak. Plus the little ones love them.

Thinking of doing cosmetic updates to a dated home? These were our costs.
I know a lot of people who have several sets of dishes...some seasonal, some specifically for use outdoors, etc..
That particular set seems more girly than summery to me, and seem more well suited to a tea party than family meals, but maybe that's just me. Just because they are NMS doesn't mean that they don't suit you and your family perfectly.
We have a set of outdoor dishes, but because we're just not graceful people, they're plastic. Last thing I want is for an unmatcheable plate to roll off the deck and smash.
We have something similar to these:

They're BPA free melamine - dishwasher safe and practically unbreakable.
