Old Uniforms, what do you do?

We are purging clothes.  DH wants to get rid of his blues and whites from the Navy.  He has been out 4 years and finished IRR.  

Is there a protocol for them? We have a Supply type place that has old uniforms I was thinking of bringing them there. BIL is in currently but Navy Seabee and different build so we can't send them to him.

I cut my name tapes off and gave them to my little step brother to use for hunting and what not. And um, how the heck are you? How's your DS? Your ticker says babies....are there more now? I'm not confusing you with someone else right?

We donate them to the thrift shop/Airman's Attic on base.  You can also sell them on militaryuniformexchange (dot) com. 

The only protocol I know of is that rank and name tapes should be removed.

H had me cut off name patches and those that indicated his rate. I even went further and took off the ship's name patches then I threw them out since some had paint all over and others had holes from where I cut them out.

I donated a bunch of old BDUs to a local homeless shelter.  Figure I'll do my part to help authenticate their signs
