Has anyone purchased a hybrid water heater? We have a pipe that burst in
our garage yesterday and since our current water heater is 15 years
old, we decided we should probably go ahead and replace that too. Our
power company offers a $300 rebate off of this particular model, but
there's not a single online review for it yet. Anyone tried it? Here's
the link to the heater:

Re: XP: Hybrid water heaters
It doesn't sound like that much of an improvement over a normal tank heater. You still have a tank of water sitting there being kept warm, and you still need to wait for it to warm up.
I assume you couldn't fit an instant water heater in your house? They really are head and shoulders above tank heaters.
