Is it bad that after reading that super long article about Memphis desegration/segregation article in Atlantic monthly (or similary high flaluting magazine (sp?) I think the county should got what it deserves.
I'm probably more conservative than any R in the legislature. I think this should be left to Shelby county to solve.

I think they would prefer if they did do it locally. Many are quite peeved that they continually have to do this.
so basically let's screw memphis?
Coming from Mass I didn't really get the concept/benefit of county school over city schools, but generally I'm a fan. I think counties tend to be diverse enough that you get a better cross sampling of society than you do at the town level. Even within WC we have areas of rural poverty and *inner-city* poverty along with extremem affluence.

Yep. Part of me is all - fine let them pay for that shyt but you can't have the buildings free of charge. But, I'm also this does nothing for the greater good of the county. It just shows this area will never be unified in anything.
What I secretly hope is that one person in particular gets quits and goes to a new district. That assholio is on my last..good.nerve.
Now as a parent, I get to wonder where T will go to school because we live in an unincorporated area. I don't wish to stand in long azz lines to get her into a top school.
