I'm drinking mint tea.
I'm totally crushing on the name Elizabeth lately if we ever have another girl. We're not TTC or anything, but I can't help but think about how pretty the name is. I kind of dislike that it's so popular even if it is a classic name.
Lemon coconut bars, oreo truffles or both?
Damn, I'm tired.
Re: Bored? Post a random
None- no sweet tooth for me! Throw me the potato chips!
I'm watching Scream 2 as I work- how lame is that? I'm a sucker for for terrible, awful scary movies.
My dog just made a pillow out of her toys and has her head laid on it, it's precious.
Haha. Well I told my IL's I would bring a dessert to our (Greek) Easter celebration this Sunday and I'm deciding which one to make. If I brought chips, they might be a little confused.
Oreo truffles.
We're pretty much settled on the name Elizabeth if we ever decide to have kids. (Still in question, despite that we were going to start trying this year ... we have changed our minds about trying for a kiddo this year at all, I think. Due to financial stress and needing to get settled in a real house first.)
I'm making chicken chili for dinner tonight and I'm stoked about it. We're also having mango-raspberry galette. Which totally does NOT go with chicken chili, but we're having it anyhow.
I'm considering making pumpkin whoopie pies for DH to take to work. Would you find a pumpkin cookie to be weird in springtime?
I want coffee but I'm too lazy to make it. **sigh**
I get to leave work in 1 hour and 15 minutes to go to my 31 week appointment.
I'm making tacos for dinner tonight! YUM!
I'm starting to nest....so tonight I am going to start tackling the kitchen. I plan to deep clean the entire room, take everything out of the cabinets and reorganize.
Lemon coconut bars....care to share the recipe?
I keep thinking about my business partner's daughter (currently visiting from NYC) flagging half of business partner's house with post it notes to let her know 'what needs to go.'
Part of me thinks that it is hilarious (and not necessarily something that I haven't thought or that her mother hasn't considered, although not to that extent) , but part of me thinks that it is obnoxious and annoys the heck out of me. I love the daughter like she was my own, but she drives me crazy (just like my own-lol). I think she is pretentious and intolerant, and clueless to how people actually live in the real world.
She wants them to sell their house (a 70s ranch that they have made improvements on and just looks like a ranch home, no particular age), because 'it is so 70s'. lol She also thinks that the classic style dining set with caning on the backs of the chairs needs to go because, 'wicker is so 70s and is not in style'. She doesn't think that any of her friends' parents live in normal, suburban homes, with furniture that is older than 5 yrs, so she is embarrassed to bring anyone home. I guess she thinks that people spend their lives replacing furniture and houses.
I never really had the "nest" thing when I was pg. I kept thinking "Hm, when does that kick in anyway?" My house was not very clean when I went into labor. I was kind of disappointed. But I also thought had another 2 weeks to go when DD was born (37w6d).
We're having chicken quesadillas for dinner tonight. I can't wait. I've been thinkng about it all day.
I adore the name Elizabeth but you knew that.
Our local brewery is having a 5k with beer stops along the way. I'm all signed up for that.
I'm doing the 30 day shred with a friend who needs someone to keep her in line. It's fine and fun...but it's not kicking my a$$ like it is hers. I'm proud of that fact. I guess five pound weights do nothing when you throw feed sacks for a living. My belly is still flabby but I'm strong! And yes, this post makes me a complete AW...but whatevers.

I've never made them before, so I don't know if they're good or not.
A whole new meaning to "making a beer run". I'd totally be in too.
I signed up for a beach body class this summer and I'm trying to convince a friend who claims she works out all the time to join with me. I think I could totally kick her a$$ in that class. She says she works out 5 times a week doing these hard core routines, but doesn't look like she's lost a pound in 6 months (she's pretty soft in the mid section). Now, I'm no super model, but if I did her claimed workouts I might look like one.
I was in a minor car accident last week and the only rental car available in town was, no joke, a Chrysler minivan. Aside from my own psychosis about not being ready to have kids and driving a kids car, the van has some incredible features I now can't live without: bluetooth, rear camera, satellite radio. I cannot wait to graduate so I can get a new car!
In other nerd news, my mom got an ancestry.com account yesterday and I spent 4 hours on it. The site does all the work for you - it's so awesome. DH's family had NO idea where they had come from - just some vague idea that they were originally from Scotland by way of South Carolina - and there it is all spelled out. The last person I got to was born in SC in 1773, so they were here before then - pretty cool.

Thinking of doing cosmetic updates to a dated home? These were our costs.
Oreo truffles
I am trying to finish up my office re-do, but I think I'm going to have to exchange a basket and for some reason I have no desire to go back and exchange it.
Plus, DH insisted on doors for the bookcases, which means, the printer won't fit inside with the door. So now I'm like, genius, where in the world am I supposed to put the printer? I don't want it on my desk.
Wives Unscripted
Do we have the same friend? LOL. The girl I'm doing the Shred with is all this is soooo touugggghhhhhh and I work out a ton in **enter some high end over priced ridiculous workout class here***. She also wouldn't do a 5k with me last week because she just wasn't ready. Ummm..it was a charity event. No one cared if you ran or walked the entire thing; we just wanted a free t-shirt. I'm by no means a great runner nor will I ever be but you're telling me you can't walk at a chatting pace or do a couple jumping jacks and situps for 20 minutes. AFTER you apparently do all these harcore workouts?!
If I went home and did this to my Mom, she would backhand me no questions asked! Nor would it matter to her one bit that I'm almost 30!
Haha. Maybe. My friend also thinks you burn the same calories and work the same muscles gliding along on an eliptical as running, but won't run with me because it's too much for her. Um...what?
We are naming baby Elizabeth
, it's a totally crushable name. It just so happens it is also 4 of my great-great grandmother's names. We are going to call her Ellie.
I am completely done working and so glad I go part time here in about 2 weeks.
We owe a ridiculous amount of taxes but we saved well this year (because I am completely neurotic) so we can pay it. It does start to really bug me though the thousands and thousands of dollars we pay every year for taxes and I am not really sure what the hell good we see from it? I mean I know it gives me a lackluster police force and somewhat decent roads to drive on but I think they should give me an itemized breakout of what exactly they used my money on. <---As you can see I am being a grinch about taxes today.

Yeah....I would not be too thrilled if my daughters ever pulled a stunt like that, but then, they wouldn't act like that. They were raised better than that.
My younger one would have no qualms telling me if she didn't like something, (we have different tastes and respect that), but she would never, ever, go on a rant like that and demand that I take care of that stuff like partner's daughter did....not that I would have let it get that far. I would have stopped it before it really started.
The big problem there is her parents. Even my kids raised an eyebrow at the way she was allowed to run the show when they were all young. She's still running it, even though she hasn't lived there in 9 years.
The funniest thing during her crazy post it rampage was that her dad was sitting in the family room reading, and all he did was look around and say "I don't know what she is talking about...looks okay to me.", and went back to reading.
Oreo Truffles. Hands down.
Our office didn't have power for almost 2 hours, there is absolutely nothing I can do work related without power/telephone/internet.
I'm set on the name Mary for a future girl (first or middle name), FI HATES the name. It was my grandmothers name so I'm pretty attached to it, lately I've been loving Marleigh which I think is a fine exception.
This is crazy to me. If I did this my mom would have have "kicked me out", and told me to get a hotel room for the rest of my visit. The only way it would fly is if I paid for all the upgrades and changes for her.
Anything with sugar is good in my book. But oreo truffles would be my preference.
I'm sitting here feeding my dog carrots. He is loving them.
Also, I need Friday to come so I'm paid. We are feeling broke.
Lemon coconut bars sound so nice and spring-y.
I also love Elizabeth, nn Betty, and it has made a reappearance near the top of my list.
I made spinach artichoke dip for dinner, all my meals these days are odd because I'm determined to eat up what is in the cabinets rather than pack it for the move. Now I have to come up with something for the filo dough in the freezer! :P
