Opinions needed - Salon services at beauty school
DH and I are cutting back expenses as I prepare to start attending school basically full-time this fall. I'm considering checking out a local hair academy for a haircut and brow wax, as I have a hard time justifying $130 every 6-8 weeks.
FWIW, my hair is pretty simple, a few inches longer than shoulder length, some long layers. Does anyone have any experience with getting haircuts/salon services at a beauty school?
I think my hair is probably long enough that even if they screw it up a little, I can always get it fixed elsewhere.
Re: Opinions needed - Salon services at beauty school
I did that all thru grad school and still do it every now and then. My BFF she is frugal and she scouts free services all the time, like she goes to Toni & Guy on education nights and becomes their model, or looks on Craigslist to find someone looking for a model for hair cut and color. I have a coworker who goes to Aveda Inst. for all her salon services and is very happy withe the result.
The services at beauty school are fine, the appointment may take a little longer than usual and in my area is hard to get an appointment, they book up very quick.
