Re: what to do for my 21st bday
Not sure where you are located, or what type of budget you are working with so I'll just throw out a few suggestions and hope one of them gives you some inspiration
Are there any wineries nearby? We have several winery areas that are about an hour or two away. You could spend a night or two at a nearby B&B, and tour a couple of wineries and grab a nice dinner.
Or, how about casinos? We are about 2 hours from AC. Even though I'm not big on gambling, I don't mind going down for the occasional weekend. There are a lot of restaurants & shops, and the people watching is fun.
Or maybe spend the weekend in a fancy hotel in the closest big city? A nice dinner and drinks, no need to get loaded. Plus you can check out a few tourist attractions during the day, or visit the hotel spa.
im located in the Chicago suburbs.
thank you, those are great ideas
Since you are near Chicago, I would suggest high tea at the Drake Hotel. You could invite a few friends. They have an option that you can order champagne with your tea, so at least you could have the fun of ordering an alcoholic beverage.
It's so elegant and fancy and fun! We went recently with my husband and another couple and we all loved it. There is a harpist playing and the food is good.
You need to make reservations online now if you want to go because times book up fast. It's pretty expensive, but I thought it was worth it.
If you want to go all out, maybe follow up with a musical or play in the city. Rock of Ages is playing there in June.
