painted curtains

Is this a good idea?
I have chocolate brown curtains in my living room. I wanted something brighter or at least different.  Should I try to paint stripes or some sort of design on them?  In white/cream, or some other color?

*the wall color is Behr Village Square. Hopefully this link will take you to a picture  http://oi42.tinypic.com/tmp2.jpg

Re: painted curtains

  • It is much harder to paint a light color onto dark than it is to paint dark onto light and make it look good.

What about adding some sort of trim or ribbon, or even a fabric border?

  • I agree Mere, I think it would be difficult to paint a lighter color ondark curtains... I could sew a border or some stripes on them if you are interested! Smile

  • Oh Maggie... be careful for what you offer! :) Ha!  I know it'd be hard to paint light over the dark. I just can't spend much money anymore on the house and I hate my curtains.  My room needs some fun in it.
