Any paint a brick fireplace before?!
The home that my fiance and I recently purchased has a really long living room that we have divided into half living room, half (soon-to-be) dining room. One end of the room has a brick fireplace that was originally painted white but has yellowed from years of use and the previous owners being smokers.
Has anyone ever painted a brick fireplace before and if so what do you do about the grout lines? Do you do everything in one color or keep the lines a different color?
Thanks for the help!

Re: Any paint a brick fireplace before?!
We painted a non-working brick fireplace in our rental cabin. We used a dark color and the brick was dark so there was no reason to prime for us. It painted pretty well but it did take some time to get it in all the spots. Since yours has already been painted once, I would say it would be even easier to paint.
My only concern with painting it would be if you plan to use it. I'm unsure how heat, etc would mix with different kinds of paint.
