My mom's a CPA so my sister and I are already giving her wine & flowers after Sunday (tax season is super stressful).
And I don't know if I want to give her a GC for a massage for Mother's Day (but who doesn't appreciate a massage?) because it's been done.
Any ideas you'll allow me to steal?
Re: Mother's Day
I am curious to hear other ideas, too, I have also done the massage GC's and mani/pedi GC's but those seem so common now.
Not sure if it is too "gifty" but if she has a laptop or tablet they make really cute personalized cases for them that you can get monogrammed with her initials or whatever. I was gonna get a cute laptop case for a friend of mine like that for her upcoming graduation.
Do you have any siblings? One time I got a necklace for mom, but it was at Christmas time, and it is a silver heart charm necklace that has all her kids names engraved around the edge of the heart. She absolutely loved it, and I think I can dig up the site if you are interested in that. It's a total "mom gift" that I thought was cheesy but it went over well.
I still want more ideas though
That's what I did last year! She told me she wanted rose bushes though, so it was an easy decision. The "Hard Knocks" are the ones she likes and they did great during our drought last year and are still alive this year!
While this sounds awesome for me, my mom wouldn't need it. My dad only works part time and he's super anal so their house is crazy clean (as in, when my siblings and I lived there we got yelled at because the house looked like it had been lived in...). And he cooks too!
Have her car detailed.
LOL @ not nude!
The car detailing sounds like a good idea, too!
I'm painting her upstairs and steam cleaning the carpet up there.
For MIL, I'm baking her favorite cupcakes and washing her car.
I usually get them both a card as well.
And since my Dad's so anal both of their cars are SUPER clean. Like, his minivan still had the tags on how to use the head rest and stow n go seating for the first 3 years...
But I think MIL would benefit from the car detailing! Maybe that will be a birthday gift...
