Do you get your hair blown out a lot? If so...

  • About $35-$45 before tip.  Depends which stylist.

  • $40 + tip. I do it every time I go to NY for work at Dry Bar.

  • It's $35+ tip at Drybar in Dallas, they recommend $10 tip on the little signs they have but I personally think that's a lot for a 30 min service! That's almost 30% tip!!!! I go with the usual 15-20% depending how much I like the outcome.
  • I've only been once - to the one in NYC and it took them an hour to blow out my hair which I thought was a long time.

  • What' the point of paying that much for a blow out? I mean, it only lasts a couple of days until you wash your hair, right?? Maybe i'm just not aware of the awesomeness of a good blow out...

I don't do it on the regular...but if I had the money I think I would...I'm awful at hair.

  • The cheapest I have paid is $20 froma gal at an inexpensive salon. I would go to her more but she takes 90 min! I went to Dry Bar for the first time a few weeks ago. I liked it and am owing again this Sat. They on,y took 45 min (my hair takes time). And they curled it so I was happy.

Its not cheap but they do a much better job than I do and with 2 small kids it is hard for me to spend that much time under a dryer in my own home.

I usually only do for nits out, parties, and special occasions.

I don't get it either.  I can do my own straight blowout in 20mins.

  • I get the package at dry bar 3 blowouts for $100. I have a ton of hair and it usually takes them 1.5 hours ( I have it curled). So worth it to me. I wish I could do it weekly but only do it for special occasions. I guess if you have really easy hair you might not seem worth it.

  • Thanks!  I love getting them, my hair just looks so much better after a blowout.  I was wondering what the avg was.  I wish I had a dry-bar near me.  Around me the prices range from 35-55 so I guess about average.

I only do them for special occasions.

  • $50 plus tip. Totally worth it though since my hair is really long and thick, and they do a much better job of styling it than I can do.  I get it blown out for special occassions, and I love how relaxing my salon is. They always include free drinks and a scalp massage.

  • But not everyone can do their own straight blowout... I couldn't do one to save my life.  I've only been to the Dry Bar once (I plan on going back again soon, though) but it's an experience.  I love getting my hair washed, they do that for you and you can get an extra scalp massage for a few bucks extra.  They play fun movies and give you complimentary champagne or other fun drinks.  It's a way to relax and when I went with some of my friends with was fun.

  • $50 plus tip.  I will do this for special occasions.  Bless you all that can do your hair as nice as a stylist.  I can't- and having a blow out makes a huge difference.  I sort of look like another person.  I usually go to my salon for blow-outs and they know me.  One time I did not- went just for a mani.  The person checking me out at the end looked at my name and told me they didn't recognize me (my hair wasn't done).  LOL.

I have thick/long hair that takes forever sometimes (although I've gotten really good at doing it myself)

The first two times I had a blow out, I spent $40-50 and it looked so "meh". They would try touching up the ends with a curler and it would flip out weird.  I was very upset about it.  My friends would say, "how could someone ruin a blowout?"

I now found an amazing places that charges $25 and they use about 10 brushes while doing your hair (use them like curlers) and my hair has amazing volume and shine.  It probably lasts about 5 days (even with running and my workout classes). I also have women constantly stop me and ask me about me hair whenever I go to that place.  They are pretty amazing.  Small price to pay IMO.
